Magic wine and the Raclette

On my third night here, Sally and I went to have dinner at her friend Celia’s house. It was Mediterranean style with gyro meat, cheese, salami, ham, feta, tomatoes, potatoes, and a ton of other stuff that you mixed and put together yourself to cook on your own baby skillet. We all cooked on something called a Raclette Grill, which is basically a large skillet with lots of baby skillets that fit underneath. It is a really, really cool idea and we had a blast! There were about six of us and we all ate and drank, and drank and drank. I discovered a new “magical” wine that is the best liquid I have ever tasted in my life.  And if you are wondering why the wine was magical, it is because I was told if I drank enough of it I would magically speak German- that didn’t happen, but I really tried to drink as much as possible. Needless to say we put away quite a few bottles and had a fantastic time. I’m bringing a bottle or two back for you all to try! I took a few pictures too so you can see the Raclette Grill…

Oh the translations... haha

Oh and in other news, a European online news website emailed me today and asked if I would be interested in doing some work for them- possibly a photo blog!! I couldn’t believe it! I am hoping this gets my foot in the door…

  1. OMG! I’m so excited about the possibility of you getting some work out of all of this. Pics are great! I’m so glad you are having fun, and I’m just a little bit jealous of your adventures. I will just have to live vicariously through you. Can’t wait to see more.

Hi–loving your blog–and who doesn’t like “extra dick”?? Cracked me up! When was there I laughed every time I saw a giant “Semen” sign painted on a building! Stay safe-Lee
